Ahoy! is our children’s and young adult imprint, Wayfarer is our memoir imprint, and we have a stand-alone literary imprint: Mākaro Press. 

The Cuba Press was founded in Wellington’s vibrant Cuba Quarter in 2018, a place of hospitality, music, art, theatre, museums, bookshops and hard-working creatives. ‘Hybrid’ means we have a number of ways of funding our books outside of the traditional publishing model. Find out more here. 

Mākaro Press is a traditional publisher that produces award-winning literary fiction. Mākaro is named after the harbour island in Te Whanganui-a-Tara that is just across the water from where the press began work in 2013. Find out more here.
